Madness 2009

The management of Madness approached me to design a logo to mark their 30th anniversay as a band together. On behalf of Slipstream merchandise I designed a mini programme in the form of a lanyard, for 'Madstock' outdoor event and a programme to mark their 2009 Tour.

KayfabeMadnessCrest

Final Black and White version of the bands 30th anniversary crest. This was used on a variety of items including albums, embroideries for jackets and bags, apparel and print advertisments for the band during 2009.

KayfabeMadnessOSBCrest

An example of the crest being used on the sticker of the re-issue of the bands seminal album 'One Step Beyond'.

KayfabeMadnesslanyard

Front cover of the Madstock double sided lanyard programme, that I designed for the event in question. It contained a full bio on Madness, the set times for the three stages at the event, mini bio's on seven of the supporting acts and a full advert for the bands website and new album.

The programme itself is measured at 135mm by 90mm and was digitally printed onto both sides of the 400gsm glossy card. The lanyard is digitally printed and is a repeat print of band logo with Crown M and block of 2 tone squares.

In the bottom corner of each card was a dancing man performing the madness dance. Each man had a letter in him that spelt 'Madness' as per a flick book.

KayfabeMadnessProg3

The front cover of the 2009 tour programme. The bands 30th anniversary crest is behind a mocked up image of the band as a country outfit, that has been framed by a double strip of 2 tone squares that runs throughout the programme.

KayfabeMadnessProg4

A double page spread (p.2-3) which depicts the front covers of every Madness tour programme during the bands career.

KayfabeMadnessProg2

Double page spread (p.20/21) made up of images from Madstock, when the pearly kings and queens joined the band onstage.

KayfabeMadnessProgbackpage2

The back cover of the tour programme, which is a montage of tour passes for the bands shows and partys. This is overlayed by a transparent white box that holds the bands tour dates.
